After this course students should be able to:
- characterise theoretical and methodological rudiments of sociolinguistics
- present shortly the development of social thought on language
- define basic sociolinguistic terms
- distinguish and characterise varieties of Polish
- interpret verbal texts using sociolinguistic tools
- reflect on problems of language normativeness
- indicate differences between selected concepts of how to classify varieties of Polish
