History of Polish Literature (to 1918) 03-HL-44
The student 1) gains basic knowledge about: the characteristics of a given literary epoch and chronology of history of literature, most important authors and their works ; literary movements; the evolution of litarary life in Poland and of literary forms.
2)understands: the significance of history of literature in humanistic and in general culture; significance of individual epoch and creators for the development of Polish culture; peculiarity of Polish history of literature in the background of Europe; difference of amateur and philological interpretation of old texts.
3)has the ability of: comprehend reading of literary works in Polish language (also written in Old Polish or kept in romantic, positivist and modernist manner), comprehend reading of subjective literature, literature summary and notes making, proper use of vocabulary from literature's history range (epoch names, literary genres and mainstreams), construction of longer speech, in a form of individual oral presentation and/or voice in a discussion; editing literary interpretation in a form of written assignment; gathering and using science information; systematising detailed knowledge; making a comparative interpretation; recapitulating and concluding a discussion; logical reasoning, team work.
