Silicones 02-SILU
The aim of this module is to provide students with the knowledge of types, properties and methods of syntheses of silicones and their various functionalized derivatives, that are used in cosmetology and the role which they play in cosmetics.
LEARNING OUTCOMES. Students are expected: (i) to have fundamental knowledge of structure, properties and application of silicones in cosmetology, (ii) to be able to synthesise a range of different functionalised silicones, (iii) to be able to choose the properties of the modified silicones to match the desired functions in the cosmetic products.
