Basic Organic Chemistry 02-PCHOL-12
This topic aims to provide knowledge of fundamentals of organic chemistry, e.g. classification, structure and nomenclature of hydrocarbons and their derivatives, physicochemical properties, synthesis and reactivity of different classes of organic compounds, interpretation of the mechanisms of organic reactions, identification and structure determination of organic molecules. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon completion of the course, students will have knowledge and understanding of fundamentals of organic chemistry: nomenclature and structure determination of organic compounds, correct interpretation of reactions mechanisms, ability to select the proper method of the synthesis of desired molecule.
